Expert coaching, wherever you train

Your training and nutrition run by an expert coach, built around your real life and whatever you’ve got to train with, and aimed at visible changes that hold up instead of slipping back the first time work gets busy. It’s the coaching a workout PDF and a tracking app were never going to give you on their own.

01 / Who this is for

Real coaching, run around your life

Online coaching is for people who want the structure and attention of real coaching but can’t make in-person sessions work. Most of the people this suits are outside London, travel a lot for work, train at odd hours, or have a gym or a home setup they’re happy with and just need someone running the coaching around it.

It’s the same standard I hold my in-person clients to: training and nutrition handled together, a plan built around you, and ongoing changes based on what your week and your data are actually showing. The difference is that it runs through the app and a weekly rhythm instead of a session in the room.

What you actually get

Everything runs through 1Fit, the app my clients already use for their programmes, logging and check-ins. Here’s what you actually get.

A programme built for your week and your kit

You tell me how many days you can train and what equipment you’ve got, whether that’s a full gym or a couple of dumbbells at home, and I build around that. Every exercise has a demo video, the selection leans towards things you can do well without me stood next to you, and the whole thing gets reviewed and progressed every four to six weeks based on what your logs are showing.

Nutrition handled properly, not just a number

You get macro targets, and then a real plan around them: either a meal plan built from foods you eat, or a flexible framework if that suits you better. A bare calorie target on its own isn’t enough, because the number was never really the problem, staying with it is. So the plan is built around that, and one named sticking point becomes the thing we actually work on.

A weekly check-in that gets answered

This is the part most online coaching gets wrong. You fill in a short check-in each week, and every week you get a personal reply back from me that references your real numbers, not a thumbs-up emoji and silence. The reply is the bit that does the work. “Weigh yourself, log it, hear nothing” is exactly the version of coaching that doesn’t change anything, so it’s the one thing here I won’t cut.

A weekly group Q&A

Every week there’s a live group call where I work through the questions that have come in, plus a short teaching topic and an open floor. It’s recorded and goes into your library either way, so if you can’t make it live you’ve still got the answer. Over a few months that library becomes a useful back catalogue you can search.

A habit that’s actually yours

One or two habits at a time, tied to whatever your real sticking point is, kept simple enough that you’ll do them. It isn’t a list of twenty things to feel guilty about.

A full review every six weeks

Every six weeks I zoom out and send you a video walking through your weight trend, your training progression and how the habits have gone: here’s where you started, here’s where you are now. This is the bit that makes it feel like coaching rather than an app subscription.

03 / The rhythm

How you actually experience it

What makes this work is rhythm, not access on tap. You hear from me twice a week on a predictable beat: the personal check-in reply at the end of the week, and the group Q&A to open the next one. Most coaching at this price is reactive, you message into a void and hope for a reply, and this is the opposite of that. You know exactly when you’ll hear from me, and you always do.

Between those points, if something genuinely comes up, you can message me in the app and I’ll get back to you within a couple of working days. Anything bigger gets answered properly on the Q&A rather than in a rushed text. Injuries or anything medical get a same-day reply, always.

What this deliberately isn’t: a WhatsApp line to me at all hours. That’s part of how I run my in-person 1:1 coaching, and it stays there. Online runs on the rhythm instead, and for most people that turns out to be the thing that helps most.

04 / How I work

Three principles that don’t change

The whole thing is built around three principles, and they don’t change just because the coaching runs through a phone.

Principle 01

The goals are specific and visible

Training, nutrition and the data all serve concrete changes in how your body looks and works. The targets are particular to you, not generic fitness benchmarks.

Principle 02

Built on evidence, adjusted on results

Generic templates don’t account for how your body responds or what your week looks like. The plan changes based on what’s happening rather than what should happen in theory, which is the entire reason the weekly data matters.

Principle 03

Nutrition is integrated into the coaching

Most online setups either ignore nutrition or hand you a meal plan and disappear. Here it runs alongside the training, with the same attention and the same iteration.

Who’s coaching you

I’m Tom Rawcliffe. I’ve been coaching for over a decade, mostly working with people on long-term physical changes: strength, shape, the way the body works day-to-day. My background is in strength and conditioning for combat sports, and I’ve worked with professional athletes, UFC contenders and world champions along the way.

These days most of my clients are people in their 30s, 40s and 50s who want their bodies to look and work better and have full lives to fit it around. The online coaching is the same approach I use in person, built to run properly at a distance for the people who can’t get into the studio.

05 / Who this isn’t for

Where this isn’t the right fit

If you want someone in the room correcting you rep by rep, that’s my in-person 1:1 coaching, not this. Online works best if you’re reasonably comfortable training on your own and want the coaching, structure and accountability around it.

If you want a line to message at all hours, same thing applies. Online runs on a weekly rhythm, not constant access. It’s deliberate, and for most people it works better, but if open access is the thing you specifically want, the 1:1 is the right fit instead.

And if you want a quick fix, this isn’t it. The work takes months, not weeks, and the whole thing is built around changes that still hold once the novelty has worn off.

What clients say

The work, in their words

“When I first contacted Tom I was unsure. But I’d worked with cheaper trainers before and not gotten the results I wanted. In the first 10 weeks I lost 7kg, gained muscle and squatted my bodyweight for the first time. He’s 100% worth the money and the best investment I’ve made for my own training.” Elliott B. · Creative Director
“Working with Tom has helped me build healthy habits into my day-to-day life. I’m down to around 88kg and still improving, while increasing my strength and flexibility. I’m finally in a place where I feel good, feel strong, and feel happy with my body.” Pedro C. · London Business Owner
07 / Common questions

Common questions

Do I need a full gym?

No. When you join you tell me how many days you can train and what equipment you’ve got, and the programme is built around that, whether it’s a commercial gym, a garage setup, or a couple of dumbbells and a bench. The exercise selection changes, the standard of coaching doesn’t.

How is this different from a workout app or a PDF plan?

The coaching is the difference. A plan that never changes, with nobody looking at how it’s going, is the thing most people have already tried and stopped doing. Here the programme adapts every few weeks off your real logs, you get a personal reply to every check-in, and there’s a weekly call. The plan is the easy part, the attention is what you’re paying for.

What if I’ve got an injury or something that needs working around?

Tell me when you apply and we’ll cover it on the kickoff call. Most things are workable with some adjustment to the programming. If something genuinely needs medical input first, I’ll say so.

Can I do this if I’m a complete beginner?

Yes, though if you’re brand new it’s worth being honest on the application about how comfortable you are training on your own. Online suits people who can follow a programme with demo videos and good coaching around it. If you’d be better with someone in the room at the start, I’ll tell you.

Why is it an application rather than just signing up?

I’m opening this to a small founding group and I want to make sure it’s a fit before anyone pays. The application is short. If it’s a good fit I’ll send you the next steps, and if it isn’t I’ll tell you straight rather than take your money.

What happens after I apply?

I read every application myself. If it looks like a fit, I’ll send you the details to get started: the founding rate, a short onboarding form so I can build everything before day one, and a 20 to 30 minute kickoff call to set it all up. You’ll have a programme, nutrition targets and your first habit live within a couple of working days of that call.
